By September 29, 2017Main

Everyone has a phone these days, either Android or iPhone.  So why not get the full use out of them before you start on a motorcycle trip.  These road trip apps will help you with finding gas, hotels, or campgrounds as well as security for your phone.  Check them out before you go to see if they are a good fit for you.

GasBuddy (Free):  Report prices, leave and read station reviews, complete fun challenges, and win gas cards.  Has a trip calculator.

Rebtel International Calling App:  When wifi is not available for using Skype or Whatsapp, try Rebtel.  Here is the info from their website:  “Call any phone, anywhere with Rebtel.  That’s because we have optimized your international calling by connecting them through local phone lines saving you money and ensuring great calling quality.  No sign-up fee, just one-minute billing”.

Waze (Free):  Community based traffic and navigation app.  Real-time traffic and road information.  So how does it work?  After typing in their destination address, users just drive with the app open on their phone to passively contribute traffic and other road data.  Waze is also an active community of online map editors who ensure that the data in their areas is as up-to-date as possible. tips
