Fall Riding for Motorcycle Riders
Fall leaf color is at its glory. Will you be riding the back roads to enjoy the brilliant colors displayed in their shades of orange, red and yellow? In the northwest we have the privilege of having majestic oaks, maple and birch trees to name a few. There is nothing like riding with a gentle breeze swirling the leaves in front of you as you ride down the road.
As you enjoy the beauty of the ride it brings to mind a few safety tips. Which I’m sure you are aware of but why review them.
- Tire tread…. make sure you have enough meat on the road! Slick tires on leaves or rain make for a squirrely ride.
- Eye protection, sunglasses when needed but if it gets dark a clear shield to protect your eyes.
- Protective clothing, do your research……so many options. Hi-Vis helps others to see you for sure.
- Ride with a buddy. Nice to have someone, for support or just to make others see you better on the road.
- Loud pipes, yes or no. I know I can hear those Harley’s coming down the road for sure.
