See the Great State of Arizona by Motorcycle

By September 23, 2016October 9th, 2016News / Announcements

Few things are more beautiful than the great state of Arizona. Seeing Arizona by motorcycle, what could be better than that? If you find yourself with some vacation time this fall, it may just be the perfect time to visit. Here are a few of the best things to see and do in the Grand Canyon state.

The Grand Canyon

How could we not mention it? Sure, it is really famous and been seen by who knows how many people. Is it still worth seeing in person? Absolutely! It turns out that if you plan your visit somewhere between September to November you really are hitting one of the best times to visit. Typically the South Rim is covered in families traveling for the summer. And it will still have a lot of people visiting (an estimated 5 million visit every year), but in the fall months the kids are back in school. Hence, not so crowded! Grand Canyon Picrotate

When it comes to getting a room at the canyon,  it should be much easier this time of year. You may even be able to nab one of the Bright Angel cabins on the rim of the canyon itself! Camping out with your motorcycle is also a great option. One excellent place to camp is the Mather campground. It’s right in the thick of things. Just be prepared to layer, especially considering you will be on your motorcycle and temperatures can be a little chilly at times.

Check out the National Park Service website:  www.nps.gov before you go. It has a ton of useful information to help you plan your visit.

Sedona

Sedona really has to be seen to be believed. It’s red rocks are famous for a reason. Whether you are cruising in on the AZ89A from the direction of Flagstaff (another awesome place to visit) or coming in on the AZ179 you will be greeted by amazing views. You will find a lot of pull outs that are perfect break spots and even better photo opportunities.  At times the roads can be less than perfect, so exercise caution and enjoy!

If it’s a little exercise after being on the road you’re looking for then you will be spoiled for choice. There are lots of hikes to choose from. One particular favorite of ours is West Fork trail. You won’t be disappointed!Sedonarotate

Of course it is just possible, even though space in your saddlebag is probably at a minimum, you might want a souvenir or two. Stop in at Tlaquepaque. It’s a refreshing shopping experience. Check out what they have to offer here: http://www.tlaq.com/sedona/home/
